We purchase wind power to offset the electrical use at our headquarters in Colorado Springs, and the folks who keep our building tidy use Green Seal® Certified cleaning products. All of our employees participate in our recycling program, and we use paperless processing wherever possible.
Our headquarters office space is LEED® Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance buildings. We have flooring made of recyclable marmoleum, and most of our appliances are ENERGY STAR® certified.
Part of investing green means considering corporate performance on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. We employ investment strategies that include portfolio screening, shareholder advocacy, and community investing. We vote proxies according to the ESG guidelines set forth in our Proxy Voting Guidelines, and we have exceeded the 1% in Community Investing goal embraced by the social investment industry for many consecutive years.
